  • Well I did It...

Yep I passed my last and final class in order to graduate it was very tough I can't believed I had come all this way and fumbled at the finish line. Meaning I had been busting ass and working hard to make A's and for some reason I made B's but I went and relooked over a few things and realized I hadn't read them correctly. Thank God for a Professor like Dr. B. She let me redo the assignments and when I say I came out with an A yesss i can scream and almosr shout. I made it ya'll....and i just so proud of me. Working jobs, hustling doing door dash and tiff treats just to pay out of pocket and finish man it has not been easy and I would and will do it again. I've always wanted to become Dr. King it just have a ring that makes me wanna sing. I guess I needd to walk across the stage first lol then I'll see what next...oh and pay Lamar the rest of their money

  • The Finale 5320 Contribution to my Learning

This is the finale….Wow I can say I made it to the position where I am really done with my Master’s Degree. This has truly been an amazing experience and journey that I was able to accomplish through dedication and hard work. Don’t get it twisted I wanted to give up, I even wanted to quit but I have a daughter who looks up to me and students that look at me as an example that they can do better if they dedicate themselves to it. This final course of the ADL program was similar to a breeze course and went by rather quickly all while connecting the dots to my innovation plan and making everything make sense on the road map as I call it. On this road map you will see from start to finish and then the final outcome of how I got to where I’m currently at and the ultimate ending goal. Finally getting to this finish line was not as easy as I’d had wished but it has definitely left a mark on me as a person knowing that I can accomplish anything I put my mind to no matter the trails. Really and truthfully anything that we do as people we have to work hard for even though hard times will fall upon us and we have to find a better way to handle situations when they arise. And that is what this entire program and course taught me. Being on this program has opened many doors I never thought would be possible for me to walk through and the first of my family generation to do it. Paving the way for the ones coming behind me. This semester was bittersweet because all of my other group members either had previously graduated or hadn’t made it to this course as of yet so once again here I am stuck in a class where I absolutely knew no one. But, that was only until I logged on to class typed in the chat that I needed a group to join. No one responded for quite a while until I received a personal message from Ms./Mrs. Kristen Sabbatini aka Krissi. I automatically felt it was meant to be because my daughter’s name is Kristen spelled the exact same way and for short it's Krissy (LOL). Then she added me to her group which contains Ms. Elda, and Ms. Erica, two other group members that I started with when I enrolled into the program. It was like a family reunion, and we got straight to work. Since we both are mom and our children attend out of school activities and on top of all of that we work we mostly communicate via Zoom, Email, Text, and Talking which would last for hours at a time which was cool because even if we needed help from each other all lines of communication was open to talk and get things rolling in a timely manner. With only 2 members in our group, we made it work to the best of our ability and really worked our butts off to get to where we are currently. For course 5320 I rate myself 95/100. I choose to rate myself at a 95% due to the fact that even though I complete all assignments in a timely manner. I had several revisions to make corrections for simple mistakes such as spelling. I did what Dr. B insisted that I do, which was relook over my assignments and make necessary corrections. She didn’t have to mention the part about resubmitting because I knew that if I was getting the information, it was for me to put it to use and do something about it. I also gave myself the score of 95% because this semester I knew what was up, I knew I couldn’t bull crap around. I had to put my best foot forward and make something shake and if I have to say so myself I did just that. And I feel GREAT like Tony the Tiger.

  • ADL Journey/How far have you come? Course(5320)

Looking back and fast forwarding to now I must say I’ve come a very long way from being a digital learner to actually being a digital leader. No, this journey has not been easy, but I’ve managed to travel this road through the ADL program with a great network of people who also want to make a difference in education. For that I am truly grateful, having a learning community and a group of individuals just like me who I could collaborate with and share ideas throughout our courses. Along this journey I have been able to create and implement new ways of learning in the classrooms I currently sub. Below are a list of items and projects I have had the pleasure of creating throughout my journey. Innovation plan https://docs.google.com/document/d/10dYcmkD0nRzCJgqTxLZMcmQvzULpFWkSCwAyQutkqRo/edit?usp=sharing During the creation of my innovation plan I had no clue what I was doing. I had just started full-time with the school district and was still feeling my way around the learning process. I was able to write a letter to my then principal concerning how I felt our school needed the correct materials such as computers for every student so that we could start them on the path of implementing blended learning. During the pandemic I saw my district suffering and wanted to find a way to make a way for the students to succeed in their communities. Organizational change When it came to organizing change within my school is was rough because some of the teachers were so used to the old way of learning that they were forgetting that times have changed and this new generation of learners learn different and in order to reach and teach the students. During this course I had to give reasons as to why I believed this change needed to happen within our district. After presenting this I feel like I started to break through and the admins started to hear me https://1drv.ms/w/s!Ao2wr1vIYIQ5sCsUaCuP6J6FYxDV?e=FQsGkF Significant Learning Environment https://1drv.ms/w/s!Ao2wr1vIYIQ5sCsUaCuP6J6FYxDV?e=FQsGkF Call to Action https://youtu.be/_5hsan0FQy8 ePortfolio Creating and overall eportfolio was very challenging but i got it done. I looked at many sites that I could use to help build my eportfolio and landed on Wix since it was a tad bit eaiser to use and navigate. With a little guidance from youtube university I was able to create something i never thought i would be able to create. from learning how to add pages, adding graphic and pictures, learning how to embed links and videos, creating blogs. HTTPS://PRBYEDDRICKA.WIXSITE.COM/WEBSITE Making Connections Having a personal learning NETWORK COLLOBRATION group throughout my time within the adl program has really been a huge help. Coming into this program not really knowing what I was doing or to expect but was forced to connect with other educator such as myself which turned out better than expected and honestly made this journey much better. https://prbyeddricka.wixsite.com/website/team-3 Out of everything I have accomplished throughout this entire course I must say what truly made me feel like I could do anything I put my mind to and thats when I first got into the program and realized I was going to create a working classroom boy was I scared but I put my mind to it and look at me now in the year 2023 getting ready to graduate and have my Masters in Education. I would've never thought I make it to the finishline but here I AM!!!!!!

  • Innovation Plan Update 5320

Begining this ADL program I had no clue I would have to create an innovation plan. It took alot off hard work and dedication. Being able to come up with and created plans, rough drafts, surveys, and more was rough when first started out but ended up being fun to create and implenment. I was givnig the opportunity to make a change and make something better for not only me but other educators, students and parents. It was a choice I had made and was willing to risk it all just to make sure my plan and voice got heard. Thank God I didnt have to put it all on the line and was able to implentment blended learning with station rotation in an up and coming 1st grade classroom. This was not an easy task especially being the fact that most schools I subbed at was on a strict budget and couldnt afford computers, laptop, and or tablets for the students which made it very hard to get them started with blended learning. When reffering to an update I feel like the entire school needs an update throughout the whole system

  • COVA Reflections Discussion 1

Before enrolling into the ADL program here at Lamar I had no idea about COVA and couldn’t tell you what it meant but all along it was something I had been practicing with not only myself but the students I have come in contact with since working in the school district. Once I realized what COVA was, I became more interested in learning more. When given the freedom and responsibility to be able to take ownership over how I learn and or teach through authentic learning my first initial reaction was WOW this is amazing that I have the ability to take my learning ability into my own hands without being judged. Yes, indeed I was ready because it was something new that I could learn at my own pace because it’s my freedom to be able to learn on my own at my own pace. With the program being new and knowing that the schools needed any kind of help they could get when it came to promoting change within the organization my feelings were straight forward already kind of knowing what the targeted problem was and coming up with ways to resolve the issue. If I do have to say so myself my innovation plan is authentic and was built from course work provided throughout the ADL program here at Lamar created by Dr. H. The passion that Dr. H has put out in the atmosphere has allowed me to be able to take this opportunity and developing my own innovation plan in order to help my organization become better when it comes to teaching and presenting information and educational resources that will not only make the educational system as a whole better but helping the students throughout their educational experience called school.

  • Welcome Back........5320

I would like to start off by saying Happy New Year. I was able to finish off the semester with an A. I couldn't be more proud of myself. I have to honestly say I am happy to be in my last semester of school and most importantly my Last and Final class. This semster I have enrolled and ready to get started with learning new things I can add to my current classroom while helping myself become the best leader for my students. Let the journey begin............

  • What a semester....

Babbyyyy from being in school to being thrown in a position where I had 32 children was something but I pull through still passing my class with an A. Since I'm up doing a few things to get ready for the Spring semester I decided to get on here and express how greatful I truthfully am to be able to still have the freedom to be a student and a full-time sub- teacher the pay aint bout shit but I'm making it work. I really wish they would raise the pay and pay us more since teachers are in high demand doesnt really feel like we are that important and we have to deal with the children of America all day.

  • Contribution to my learning and learning community 5317

This semester went by pretty fast, every assignment seemed to have come and gone and come again. Every weekend I believe I had something due, but it was ok because it kept me on my toes which caused me to want to learn more. Upon actually getting into Course 5317, Resource Digital Environments, I looked over the syllabus and had no clue how I was going to get it all done especially since I don’t know too much about technology but, I shocked my own self at the results I’ve come up with. Dr. Still did an amazing job teaching this course. I really enjoyed this course to the fullest and got a chance to collaborate with new colleagues since the others I had have since graduated. This semester Dr. Still tried to make it easy by splitting the class up in groups so that we could collaborate, but it didn’t work out like that. I made several attempts to reach out to the colleagues in my group and even put my phone number on the classroom discussion board and only got one person from the group to reach out and we just went from there and started our own little duo which turned out to be perfect. This duo included Mrs. Veronica Goodly and myself, even though I got the group started Mrs. Goodly kept us organized especially when it came to our meetings. Even though we had such aa small group will still managed to get things done and work submit. On most meeting nights which were held on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturdays via zoom, email, voice, and text. Our meeting would start at 8PM and end at 10PM something going over but, we didn’t care, all we cared about was making sure to get all work completed and turned in in a timely manner. Our talks and discussion were never boring and always went off track but quickly got back on. Overall, to have only a few members I must say we did an amazing job and will continue to as we complete our ADL Master’s program here at Lamar. For me course 5317 was very unique because I had to interact more with technology, no I’m not too fond of it because it’s a lot that goes along with it. One click of the button and the whole computer can shut off so when it comes to being tech savvy, I’m not it but I do try and that’s what keeps me going. This class went side by side with how I am trying to get my students able to get transitioned into blended learning environments within their small group rotation time in class. It has been a pretty rough transition, but we are holding and hanging on to the real reason and that’s making sure our students are on top of their studies through these new and different learning tools that will allow them to expand their learning ability. For Course 5317 I rate myself 96/100. Even though all components were met I had a little bump in the road where I gotten sick from my students at the job and was down a few days causing me to not submit my outline on time. Soon as I could I reached out to Dr. Still, who understood the situation and I turned my late assignment in and continued working on my other assignments. The discussions this semester not only helped me build my publication but also helped me learn new resources that I can take back to my own classroom.

  • Media that Engage Discussion (5317)

Creating media and being able to engage with this new technology is now our new way of living now days. Media allows one to be creative as well as giving one the opportunity to think outside the box when it comes to what it is they are trying to create while allowing the mind to be free. Being able to think outside of the box is great and a more effective way to be able to engage with others whether in a classroom setting or in the real world. For the media podcast I had the opportunity and pleasure of working with Mrs. Veronica Goodly, we were able to get together and come up with different tools to help our students stay engaged with using technology in the classroom. We both agreed that students do and will become distracted but also came up with different techniques to keep them interested and entertained during their learning progress within the classroom and at home. In order to get one to even look at my publication, it has to have something that will have them excited to read it. The title itself must be eye catching enough for the person to say I want to know more about this subject, so I’ll start there with finding a title that’s exciting. This week’s video discussion played a major role when it can to finding and creating content that was out of the box, but we managed.

  • Audio and Visual Digital Tools Discussion

After reviewing and listening to our weekly discussion videos this was right on time. Traditional classrooms are slowly being transformed into blended learning classrooms, which is so needed with this new generation of children. I honestly believe if the pandemic hadn’t happened when it did, we would still be holding on to traditional learning and not letting our minds take us further causing ourselves and the students we teach to be caught in a whirlwind. Being able to implement blended learning into a traditional classroom has made learning easier for not only the students but teachers old and new as well. Digital learning has made a huge impact on how students are learning today. Digital learning has allowed students to learn worldly things within the classroom rather than on their own. Students are more engaged in learning new things now that the schools have implemented blended learning into their classrooms. References Page: Innovative Digital Learning Environments. (n.d.). • Whats really important 5317

These last few weeks have been tough but manageable. This 2nd half of the semester was a little odd and I say odd becuase the groups put together by the professor didnt go according to plan. Reaching out and trying to get in contact with the members was not good. I know people have busy lives but we also make time for things that are important to us and this is something that is important to me passing this class. Even though I waas unable to get in contact with other group members I found one group member that was ready to get to work and boy did we work. From zoom call meetings to text to group work we stuck together and got it done. After coming to the conclusion that it would just be us two working together I soon realized what was really important ans got to work not worrying about the others thats choose not to participate.

  • Pursuing and Sharing Publications Discussion Week 2 (5317)

Wow!!! Yet another week of some awesome videos geared towards helping change the old way of learning and creating something new. In the video provided by Ken Robinson was very artsy and creative I love how animated the video was really head my attention through out the presentation and that’s a great way to reach our youth/students. Giving them something they can interact with and that will definitely keep them interested and ready to learn instead of being discouraged. Video two was straight to the point and the observation I received from that video and to definitely take back with me is to make learning fun again as Dr. H would say. Since being a sub, I have encountered quite a few things in the classroom and honestly the children are bored with little to no structure which has caused them to get themselves in trouble and not staying focused on their studies and that has been a huge problem since going through the pandemic. This video basically lets us know how to go about changing it with 3 rules. Rule 1: Courtesy comes first. Rule 2: Embrace the mess/ Trial and Error. Rule 3: Practice Reflection. The third video reflected on how one comes up with good ideas but in all honesty good ideas come from small ideas that needed another small idea to become a bigger idea. All of the videos provided were right on time since the next assignment. Reference Page: Sir Ken Robinson. (2009). Changing education paradigms.
