Course 5318

During the past months I’ve been taking courses within my ADL program to prepare and assist me in creating my own online course that will not only help me as a new teacher but the 3rd grade students I now have in my classroom.

Below I have included resources and tools that have been of great assistance to get me to the point I am today which is implementing blended learning into face-to-face learning environments. Creating this course and videos have not been an easy task but I strive and manage to due my best.

5 Week Plan Course Timeline

Implenmentation
I have created a blended learning course for 3rd grade RLA students within my district. This course is 5 weeks long and will allow the student to work and learn at that own pace with resonable due date for each assignment.

Usability & Reflection
For my testing study I used two of my current colleagues one is a 2nd grade reading teacher the other is 4th grade RLA teacher, three students one 2nd grader, the other two are current 3rd graders who tested low on their starr reading test. last semester, and we cant forget the parents who want to see their child succeed.
The reason I choose these particular students is because they are students who need 1 on 1 but knows technology so I wanted to test their learning ability in our new program.

Contribution to my Learning
Just like last semester this school year caught me off guard with so much going on in my out of school life I thought I would get somewhat of a break but that was a lie, and the truth was no where to be found. After pulling myself together I came to grips that I’m still a college student and in order to graduate I must first go through and pass all courses needed for graduation. This semester I’m taking 1 course. I have realized in the past that 1 course is better for me to be able to focus a little better.
Going into this course I semi knew what was coming but didn’t know it would be me having to create and present my own online course. It was indeed a challenge but with the help of my learning community and watching videos from YouTube University I was able to put my fears aside and get the job done. I went through many websites and tutorials to see which source would be more beneficial. Going over with my group members and receiving feedback and feedforward from them made me want to push harder and aim higher and I did just that. In creating this course, I learned so many new techniques that are making my course better as time continues to go on. Just like Dr.H, said many semesters ago “you must trust the process”.
This semester I was a little nervous at first to join a new learning community, but I believe I was led to this group of women for a reason, and I appreciate them dearly for allowing me to be a part of something so magnificent. Group member included Lorena Guzman, Brandy Dinkins, Christine Glenn, Jenny Howard, and my self Eddricka King aka (Dricka King) according to GroupMe lol. Once a week we got together on Wednesday at 7pm via Zoom and had group meeting just going over weekly assignment, discussions to make sure we were headed in the right direction. Our daily meetings were done via GroupMe just in case anything was missed during our online meet. I am very proud to say I got rid of my nervousness and got down to business once again every semester I try to better than the last. I got off to a rocky start but the ending results and with the help of my group members guiding me along the way I was able to once again succeed plus I don’t look like what I’ve been through, and I am grateful for that.
For course 5318 I rate myself 96/100 Even though all components were met I still ran into a one hiccup where I forgot to add my references to my websites what a simple mistake. This mistake was caught by Lorena Guzman I am so glad she had time to look over my site and give me this feedback and right on time too so grateful. If I can’t put my best foot forward, I don’t want to put any foot forward at all. This semester was amazing I’m super excited for the next course.
