For the past year I've been wanting to go back to school but it seems like everytime I got ready to enroll something would come up or just happen. Like my first time enrolling back in school......I ran around so much back and forward, wrong information, wrong campus, wrong classes, no financial aid, honestly I got tired of trying and gave up for a moment until a good friend of mine contacted me about the things I had accomplished since the last time we spoke. I simply told her I was too old for school and maybe it wasn't for me. We talked so long I completed admissions and completed my fafsa so that I could get ready to enroll in school. And here I am Back In School and thinking every day.....What was I thinking??? LOL

My name is Eddricka King from Houston Tx. I have several favorite hobbies but my favorite one is exploring new restaurants for me to eat and enjoy the food. I actually have a job just to pay for my food since I'm always eating lol. When is comes to my personal interest in educational leadership I feel that taking on the role as a educator you have to put your best foot forward, have an open mind, as well as being confident in what you do when it comes to both the students and the parents. Now there are many problems happening within the education field but, the one that have caught my attention has to deal with going through a pandemic and realizing that majority of our students didn't know how to work a computer. The pandemic happened and the school district in which i work in had the hardest time switching from in-person to online learning. which was indeed an eye opener for us all. Throwing the children from in class learning to online learning was the most hardest thing the school district could have done because most of the children had not been taught how to properly use their computers which made it even harder for them to learn as well as having parents teach their own children which was hard on the parents who have full time jobs. I believe this course will help me by giving me insight on how to handle educational in technology form because this is the way it will be for a while and i myself need to be prepared. At this time i don't have a portfolio yet but i can and will create one and have it ready to submit.
