After reviewing this week’s videos and readings I honestly needed the videos by Sir Ken Robinson and Daniel Pink’s. Another eye opener to what we as educators see daily and it I very clear that our educational system is truly messed up and change is needed. Ok yes, we know this but, how do we get over this messed up system and start implementing change? (They say you don’t suppose to answer your own questions but I’m going to answer this one LOL). Well according to Sir Ken Robinson, we have to bring on a learning revolution and that’s by having passion towards what motivates you as a person.
Being an educator (sub), I have realized and understand these children need to be motivated daily and I got my confirmation through watching these videos. My mom tells me all the time “Girl them kids need you go make their day”. Now her telling me that motivates me and then I go motivate the children and that’s sometimes all we need is for someone to motivate us. In the second video by Daniel Pinks was all about motivation he mentioned 3 elements that helps motivate people and that is autonomy, engagement, and purpose. Maintaining self-control over the situation in most of our cases the classroom, engaging with our students, doing is with passion and purpose. These videos really influenced me because they have allowed me to continue to motivate and continue having passion because someone must do it.
I really enjoyed this weeks videos they just did something to me.
