To be honest learning from the examples given in the videos lets me know the school district itself is so far behind and not up to date with material equipt for our students who are a part of the 21st Century. Right now this is our downfall and I have to say our because we all are a part of the school system and we see this happening every school year and havent said anything about the matter at hand.

When it comes to having flexibility and being flexible I’m all for it. I would rather it be that way anyway because it's a lot more freedom to be able to help your students be more successful instead of giving them the traditional way of learning. We are learning day by day as educators that the traditional way is no longer working for new generations of students. This is one of the main reasons why we need to implement blended learning into each and every classroom. The school I’m currently at I do believe will be flexible about adding blended learning to their current curriculum because as of now our school is lacking teachers due to this pandemic and difficulty of hiring teachers so at this point any new way of learning and education for students.

Where is your voice?

After reviewing articles and videos concerning changing from traditional learning to COVA which entails giving the students a choice of freedom when it comes to how they are learning and using the information given. The biggest challenge I believe we will face as we integrate COVA into the learning process will be the voices of the students. This will be rather hard for our students who are indeed nervous about raising their hands in class and using their voice to express how they feel. Or have a question. Looking back when i was in grade school many of my teachers would out right tell me the answer was wrong which caused me not to want to raise my hand in class which also hindered me from saying anything. We as teachers must learn the effect we have on students, the things we say can either help the students by encouraging them to move forward or dismiss them all together which will cause them to not want to move forward. If we practice giving them their voice now they will know how to operate in the real world and not be ashamed to ask questions because no question is stupid

At this point in my life, I consider to be and choose to have a growth mindset. Don’t get me wrong with having a growth mindset you can fall short. I have done it several times but realizing and recognizing that there was indeed a problem I decided it was best to figure out a way to solve the problem rather than let it just stay the same and not doing anything about it. After covering the readings and videos for this week I have a better understanding on how to get students to perform well in their studies and that is through encouraging them and unlocking their learning ability. Not allowing them to get into a fixed mindset by continuing to praise them for every little thing. I feel every student is capable of learning and having the growth mindset especially if they have a teacher who is willing to take their time and help those students in need of help instead of blaming the students for the way they learn.
